My name is Maurille de Smalen
I am the founder of Creative Mind Project, a platform that helps people discover and ignite their creativity using a new approach.
Right now, I am a practising abstract artist. And I have been an artist my whole life. My art education began when I was a toddler, and I went on to study art at HKU in the Netherlands.
But it wasn’t until I learned to create from my authentic voice that my art ignited and I started to help others quickly overcome what had taken me years to learn.
I learned how to create what I loved. Art that was like me. I learned how to make the art of my life.
Now I teach artist all over the world how to create the art of their lives and share their true voice.

week 1 & 2
We will start with a welcome session, to get to know each other.
Then we’ll focus on what you want to create. I have a proven method that will help you discover what you desire in your art.
We’ll discover why and how you want to create your art. And we’ll bring back play and curiosity.
DESIGN
week 7 & 8
How you can use it to bring out the best. And we’ll also cover design, because there are a few ways that can change your art tremendously.
I’ll be sharing my method I learned working in fashion and it’s not exaggerating to say it will change everything for your art.
COLOR
week 3 & 4
At this stage we’ll bring color and all aspect of color into your art.
We’ll go over the color palette and what it can do for your art. We’ll dive into values, contrasting colors and how to create
BRAVE & RISK
week 9 & 10
You will start to work on a series/body of work these last few weeks. Everything you have learned will come together here.
Creating a series is a fast and helpful way to gain clarity.
Here you will learn how to follow your instinct, getting unstuck and finishing your art.
CONTRAST
week 5 & 6
We are halfway there, and now it’s time to look at how you can add contrast and make it interesting to the eye. What materials should you use, what textures can you add? This is about play and discovery.
We’ll start mark making in a different way and how to make it come alive.
BODY OF WORK
week 11 & 12
You’ll be working on several pieces at once, and each will be the catalyst for the other.
I’ll be working alongside you in my own studio.
These last sessions might be the most important ones as step by step, you will be working towards creating your best work.
For many, it’s the missing link between technique and finally letting go of the rules that held them back for so long.

The program will start on Wednesday the 4th of February.

Yes, the entire program will be online. Every session will be recorded so everybody will have the chance to view the session in their own time.

You will have access to the program for an entire year. That will give you enough time to watch, learn and fully implement the steps you’ll receive.

Liberate will have one session a week and a coaching session each month. That means you will receive 12 sessions where you will be guided throught the program and there will be 3 group coaching sessions.

If you have been creating art, that is enough.
You don’t need to have an Art school degree.
But if you have and art degree, that is fine too. But it’s not a must.

Liberate is a one of a kind. I have not come across a course that delivers this kind of information or support.
Most courses are technique or skill-based: they offer to learn new skills, but never teach you how to make them your own.
